About StarKey
What is StarKey Wallet?
StarKey is a non-custodial, multi-chain crypto wallet built for the Supra ecosystem. A single wallet handles tokens, NFTs, swaps, and bridges across Supra, Aptos, Ethereum, Solana, and Sui. It ships as a Chrome / Brave / Edge browser extension and as iOS and Android mobile apps.
Is StarKey custodial?
No. StarKey is fully non-custodial — your keys are generated and stored on your device, encrypted with your password. No one at StarKey, Supra, or any third party can move funds on your behalf or recover access for you.
What chains does StarKey support?
Supra (L1), Aptos, Ethereum, Solana, and Sui out of the box, plus EVM-compatible networks you can add manually through Settings → Networks.
Where can I download StarKey?
- Chrome extension: Chrome Web Store
- iOS: App Store
- Android: Google Play
Only install from these official stores — fake StarKey listings have appeared on third-party app sites in the past.
Is StarKey audited?
Yes. The wallet is audited by an independent security firm; the latest audit report is published in Audit Report.
Installation & Setup
How do I install the StarKey browser extension?
Open the Chrome Web Store listing and click Add to Chrome. After install, pin the extension to your toolbar and open it to start the onboarding flow. The same extension works in Brave and Edge.
How do I create my first account?
Open the extension or mobile app and tap Create Account. You will be asked to set a password, accept the Terms of Use, and choose a backup method — Split Key, Secret Recovery Phrase, or Private Key. Each step is detailed in the Create Account guide.
What is the password for?
The password locks your local wallet — it encrypts your keys on this device and gates access when StarKey is locked. It is not a recovery mechanism. If you forget it, you must reinstall and recover from your backup (Split Key files, Secret Recovery Phrase, or Private Key).
Can I recover my password?
No. The password never leaves your device and is not stored anywhere. If you forget it, uninstall the wallet, reinstall, and recover from your backup. See Import Account.
Accounts
What is the difference between a Main Account and a Sub Account?
A Main Account is a root account created during onboarding (or via Create New Account) with its own backup. A Sub Account is derived from a Main Account’s key material and shares its recovery — you get a separate address per chain without needing a new backup. See Accounts.
What is an Imported Account?
An Imported Account is a wallet brought into this StarKey installation from an existing Secret Recovery Phrase, Private Key, or Split Key backup. Imported accounts appear under the Imported group on the Accounts screen. Walkthrough: Import Account.
Can I have multiple accounts?
Yes — unlimited. Use Create New Account for fresh root accounts, Create Sub Account for child accounts under an existing root, or Import Account for wallets you already own elsewhere.
How do I switch between accounts?
Tap your avatar in the top-right of the Wallet tab to open the Accounts screen, then tap any row. The wallet rescopes its balances, NFTs, and activity to the selected account immediately.
What happens when I “Hide” an account?
Hiding removes the account from the active list but keeps its keys, balance, and on-chain state intact. The account moves to a collapsible Hidden Accounts section at the bottom of the Accounts screen; tap the eye icon to unhide.
Can I delete a Main Account?
No — Main Accounts cannot be deleted from inside the wallet because doing so would orphan their sub-accounts. You can hide them instead. Imported Accounts and Sub Accounts can be deleted from their per-account More menu.
Security & Backup
What is Split Key backup?
Split Key splits your recovery into three pieces — one stored in your Google Drive, one stored on this device, and one given to a trusted guardian. Recovery requires any two of the three pieces, so losing a single piece does not lock you out. Detailed in Create Account → Split Key.
What is the Secret Recovery Phrase?
A 12- or 24-word phrase that derives every key under a Main Account. Anyone with the phrase can spend from every chain that account uses — store it offline, never paste it into a website, never share it.
Should I use Split Key or Secret Recovery Phrase?
- Split Key is convenient — recoverable from any device with two of the three pieces, no manual transcription.
- Secret Recovery Phrase is the standard self-custody backup — portable to other wallets, offline-storable on paper or metal plates.
Both are equally secure when handled correctly. Many users keep both: Split Key for convenience and a written-down Secret Recovery Phrase as a cold backup.
Will StarKey ever ask for my Secret Recovery Phrase?
Never. StarKey support, the Supra team, and the StarKey app itself will never message you asking for your phrase, private key, or password. Any request to share those is a scam.
What is a Private Key import?
A Private Key imports a single address on a single network (e.g. one Ethereum address). It does not derive sub-accounts on other chains. Use it when you only need to bring in one wallet from another tool.
Where is my data stored?
Keys and account metadata are encrypted with your password and stored locally — in the browser extension’s secure storage on desktop, in the app’s secure storage on mobile. The Split Key backup pieces are sent to Google Drive, your device, and your guardian only when you opt into that backup method.
Tokens & Transactions
How do I send a token?
Open the Tokens tab, tap the token, then tap Send. Pick the recipient, enter the amount, choose a fee tier (Slow / Standard / Fast / Custom), and review before confirming. Full walkthrough: Send Tokens.
How do I receive tokens?
Tap Receive on the token card. StarKey shows a QR code plus your address for the active network. Share that address with the sender — it works for any standard-compatible token on that network.
Can I cancel a transaction once it’s broadcast?
No. Once a transaction is mined, it cannot be reversed. If it is still Pending in the mempool you can broadcast a replacement with a higher fee using Speed Up (where supported), but cancellation is not guaranteed.
Why is my balance shown as zero just after receiving funds?
Pull-to-refresh the Tokens tab, or wait one block confirmation. Some chains take longer than others to surface new balances. If a token still does not show, use Manage Tokens → Add custom token with the contract address.
What is the “Max” button on the send screen?
It fills the amount field with your entire balance of the selected token. On native tokens it leaves nothing for future gas — enter the amount manually if you plan to keep using that chain.
How do I add a token that StarKey does not auto-detect?
Open Manage Tokens → Add custom token and paste the contract address. StarKey auto-fills the symbol and decimals when the contract is recognized. Always verify the contract from the project’s official source — anyone can deploy a token with any symbol.
Bridge & Swap
What’s the difference between Bridge and Swap?
- Bridge moves value across different chains (e.g. SUPRA on Supra → ETH on Ethereum).
- Swap converts tokens on the same chain (e.g. SUPRA → ETH, both on Supra).
Both flows route through a provider (default SupraNova) and surface every fee on the review screen. See Bridge & Swap.
What is Max Slippage?
Slippage is the maximum price drift you accept between quote and execution. Default is 0.5%. Lower values can cause volatile swaps to fail; higher values can mean receiving less than expected. Only Swap exposes this — Bridge locks the rate at submission.
How long does a bridge take?
The review screen shows an Estimated Time (typically a few minutes). Cross-chain settlement depends on both networks — congestion on either side can stretch the actual time. Track progress under History → Activity.
My bridge has been “Bridging” for a long time. What now?
Tap View on Explorer on the source hash. If the source transaction confirmed but the destination has not surfaced, the provider is still relaying — give it more time before contacting support. Never re-broadcast manually. Share the source hash and destination address with support if it does not resolve.
My swap failed with a slippage error. Why?
The executed price moved past your Max Slippage limit between quote and submission. Bump slippage a notch (e.g. 0.5% → 1%) on volatile pairs, or wait for liquidity to stabilize.
NFTs
How do I see my NFTs?
Open the NFTs tab on the portfolio. StarKey shows a two-column grid scoped to the active network (or all networks). Tap any cover for the full details page. See NFTs.
An NFT I own is not showing up. What can I do?
Tap Refresh in the NFTs toolbar. If it still does not appear, use Import NFT with the contract address and token ID from the marketplace’s Details section (e.g. OpenSea). Older standards may require enabling Legacy NFTs in Settings.
How do I send an NFT?
Open the NFT, tap Send, pick a recipient, and review the gas / fee breakdown. For ERC1155 items you also pick how many editions to send. Full flow: NFTs → Send.
How do I hide spam NFTs?
Open Manage NFT, tap Select, multi-select the spam items, then tap Hide. They move to a Hidden NFTs section and can be unhidden later. Hiding does not delete anything on-chain.
Can I sell an NFT directly from StarKey?
StarKey itself does not list NFTs — tapping Sell opens a curated marketplace list (OpenSea, Blur, Magic Eden, SuperRare, Foundation, etc.) and hands off to the marketplace pre-filled with the item.
Buying Crypto
Can I buy crypto with fiat inside StarKey?
Yes. The Buy tab routes through an on-ramp provider. Pick the fiat currency, the token, the destination account, and a payment method (card or bank transfer). See Buy.
Why is my country / currency / token not in the picker?
Coverage is set by the on-ramp provider, not StarKey. If a currency, token, or payment method is missing, the provider does not yet support it for your region.
I was charged but the tokens have not arrived. What now?
Open the Pending section on the Buy screen. If the order is still Pending, the provider is still settling — card orders usually take minutes, bank transfers can take a business day. If it has flipped to Failed, the provider refunds to your payment method; contact provider support with the order ID.
Connecting to dApps
How do I connect StarKey to a website?
When a dApp calls the StarKey provider, the extension pops up a connection prompt listing the requested account and permissions. Approve to share your public address with the site; reject to keep it private. Connected sites are listed under Settings → Connected Sites.
A site says StarKey is not detected. What can I check?
- Make sure the extension is installed, enabled, and pinned in your browser toolbar.
- Reload the page after installing — the provider injects on page load.
- StarKey does not inject into third-party iframes. If the dApp is embedded inside another site, open it in its own tab instead.
For developers: see Detecting the Provider for the detection snippet.
How do I revoke a site’s access?
Open Settings → Connected Sites, tap the site, and tap Disconnect. The site will need to request a new connection next time you visit.
Can I switch accounts after I’ve connected to a dApp?
Yes. Switch accounts from the Accounts screen — the dApp receives an account-change event and updates its UI. Some dApps cache state and may need a page refresh.
Troubleshooting
StarKey says my password is wrong, but I’m sure it’s right.
Confirm the keyboard layout, caps lock, and any auto-correct that might silently substitute characters. If your password is genuinely lost, you must reinstall StarKey and recover from a backup — there is no password reset.
A transaction is stuck on Pending.
Check the block explorer using the transaction’s View on explorer link. If the transaction was dropped from the mempool, broadcast a replacement with a higher fee. On Ethereum and similar chains, you can also nonce-overwrite from the same account.
I see two transactions for the same operation.
Some chains briefly index a transfer on both the source and destination side until the explorer reconciles them. Refresh the activity tab after a few blocks; one of the two will drop.
Send button is greyed out.
Common causes: invalid recipient address, amount exceeds available balance, missing native token for gas, or the destination chain is on a different network than the source token. Double-check each field.
Receive QR shows the wrong chain.
The receive screen is scoped to whichever network is selected at the top of the wallet. Switch the network filter to the chain you want to receive on, then reopen Receive.
I think I’m being phished — what do I do?
- Do not enter your Secret Recovery Phrase, private key, or password anywhere except the official StarKey app.
- Disconnect every suspicious site from Settings → Connected Sites.
- If you already entered secrets into a phishing form, move your funds to a fresh wallet generated from new keys, immediately.
- Report the phishing site to Google Safe Browsing and to StarKey support.
No StarKey or Supra team member will ever ask you to share your Secret Recovery Phrase, Private Key, or Split Key backup files. Anyone who does is impersonating us.
